Suz Art Beat is located in the Pacific Northwest. The ocean beaches, beautiful local flowers, and children inspire me to paint fluid delicate flower wreaths, bouquets, waterfront scenes, and bright eyed children in watercolor, pastels and graphite. I enjoy teaching and art, so naturally these two interests have developed into sharing my talents with elementary school children and adult evening classes. Design & color are everywhere but it's a gift to see through artists eyes. I work in watercolor for its transparency and fluidness, pastels for its spontaneous bright colors and workability, and graphite for its great contrast of values and depth in shadows and drawing out highlights. Since the early 80's I have developed designs that express a fresh and restful mood. 'Nature is subdued, quiet, and meant to bring peace to the soul'.
